In my English literacy class, we learned about Greek mythology. In this class, we also had Greek mythology project that every student need to complete. Each student was assigned to a god or a goddess and need to research closely about the god that they got. Below is my research paper about my god.
Greek name/ Role/ Power
Aphrodite, The Ancient Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty, identified with Venus by the Romans. The Greek word aphros means “foam” Aphrodite was, in fact, widely worshipped as a goddess of the sea and of seafaring; she was also honoured as a goddess of war, especially at Sparta, Thebes, Cyprus, and other places, However, she was known primarily as a goddess of love and fertility and even occasionally preside over marriage. The secret power of her is transformative power–Love as magical powers of transformation that could cause both gods and mortals to do as she bid them.
Like all the Greek Olympic gods, Aphrodite was immortal and very powerful. Her special powers were those of love and desire. She had a belt that had the power of love, it causes other to fall in love with the wearer. Some time other Greek goddesses, such as Hera, would borrow the belt from time to time. The belt had the ability to cause fighting couples to fall in love again.
Family/ Relatives
There are many of the gods were in love with Aphrodite, Zeus was afraid that there going to be a great battle would break out over her. Then he arranged a marriage between Aphrodite and Hephaestus. What was funny about this Greeks as Hephaestus was a lame and ugly god.
These are all the known relatives of Aphrodite. Her mother was Dione and her father was Zeus. In the other story had been told that Aphrodite was born from the white foam produced by the severed genitals of Uranus(Heaven) after his son Cronus threw them into the sea. This is the two-story of Aphrodite birth that haven clarify. She had three main siblings Athena, Hera, and Helen. Aphrodite had a husband named Hephaestus but she cheated on him with Ares. She had nine children named Anteros, Eros, Deimos, Phobos, Harmonia, Eryx, Hermaphrodites, Priapus, and Aeneas. Aphrodite also had many consorts within the consort also had children with them too like Hephaestus, Ares: Eros, Phobos, Deimos, Harmonia, Pothos, Anteros, and Himeros, With Hermes: Hermaphroditus, With Poseidon: Rhodes, Eryx, With Dionysus: Peitho, The Graces, Priapus, With Anchises: Aeneas.
Of Aphrodite’s mortal lovers, The most important were the Trojan shepherd Anchises, by whom she became the mother of Aeneas, and the handsome youth Adonis, who was killed by a boar while hunting and was lamented by women at the festival of Adonis. the cult of Adonis had underworld features, and Aphrodite was also connected with the dead at Delphi (ancient town and seat of the most important Greek temple and oracle of Apollo).
Aphrodite had many siblings like Aeacus, Angelos, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Dionysus, Eileithyia, Enyo, Eris, Hebe, Helen of Troy, Hephaestus, Hercules, Hermes, Minos, Pandia, Persephone, Perseus, Rhadamanthus, the Graces, the Horae, the Litae, the Muses, the Moirai, or the Titans, the Cyclopes, the Meliae, the Erinyes (Furies), the Giants, the Hekatonkheires.
Symbols/ Physical appearance
Aphrodite was known as the highly attractive young god who dressed stylish and loved to wear jewelry. Her eyelashes were curled and she had a constant smile on her cute face. She had a tender neck and symbolized the feminine beauty. ♀ Aphrodite’s symbols were the girdle (which she was using to compel love), the seashell and the mirror. It is said that the female gender symbol is likely to represent the mirror of Aphrodite, the top half of the symbol representing the actual mirror and the bottom half it handles. The sacred animal was the dove.
This the meaning of Aphrodite symbols, Her symbols were Dolphin, Rose, Scallop Shell, Myrtle, Dove, Sparrow, Girdle, Mirror, & Swan.

This the festival that celebrates Aphrodite. The festival Aphrodite is Aphrodisia which is celebrated in Athens and Corinth. Aphrodite is not a patron god of any city or area. There isn’t any known information on the celebration. That’s all there is about this celebration.
History/ War/ Myth
When the goddess Eris was turned away from a party, she tossed a golden apple among the other goddesses that said: “To the Fairest” on it. The goddesses Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena all wanted the apple. Zeus Decided that a mortal name Paris would decide who deserves the apple.
The three goddesses visited Paris and he had to decide who was the most beautiful. The three goddesses offered him with something, Hera offered him with power, Athena offered him wisdom and fame, and Aphrodite offered him love with the most beautiful mortal woman in the world, Helen. Paris had chosen Aphrodite. However, when Paris stole Helen from a Greek king and took her to Troy, he started the Trojan War.
Aphrodite sided with the Trojans in the Trojan War. This was because both Paris and her son, the hero Aeneas, were Trojans. She also persuaded the god of war, Ares, to support Troy during the war. Aphrodite was very involved in the war, protecting both Paris and Aeneas during battle. At one point she even gets injured and has to return to Mount Olympus for healing.
Fun Fact
Aphrodite is known to have flings with other Gods, and mortals like Ares, Adonis, & Anchises. She is married to Hephaestus, and has over 20 children!

we were always told to mind our parents and that adults know best. We were taught to obey and believe that we adults were superiors; however, this wasn’t always the case. As a 3-D designer, I have learned skills that so many adults lack and would love to acquire. At the young age of fifteen, I have recognized that I have potential to learn like an adult. I was really glee with knowledge and skill development at a young age.
When I was a kid, I adept in architectural drawing, I was really passionate about that career. Also, that was my family and my grandfather, that passed away when I was 10-year-olds, wanted me to do it as my career. I remembered the last quote, grandfather, he told me with the last breath, Khmer(ចង់អ្វីធ្វើអ្វីតាមចិត្ត ជីវិតនិងមានផ្លូវដើរជារៀងរហូត), “Do what you want to do, life will always have ways to choose”. After he died for a few week I got a scholarship to Liger Leadership Academy.
Then I was introduced by my teacher, Max, when I was 11 years old, in the Liger Leadership Academy. In that year, I just got my new computer, and I was really excited with the concept that I could learn from that computer. Instead, my teacher, Max, he introduces to a new software called, “Blender”. I was a kid that adapt to learn new, with full effort than I just love to work with 3d.
In life, I always have other say the bad thing to me like they just don’t understand about my feeling. This guy wants his freedom to do like other want to do. I’m really enjoy thinking about this quote, “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”. So I did win over that people with the try, work, and help. As I work I always want to make my father dream to come true. My father he really wants me to learn this subject because he doesn’t have a chance to learn. He had motivated me as always to try and never give up on my dream. I love him so I really want him to feel really happy for his life. I had made him cry for me since I was a baby until now. So now it’s time to pay him back what he wants.
I really excited with the skills that I have in the past few years, I try my best to make really cool and creative design to help other in the emotion or having fun just watch some of the design that I did. I have learned how to make a short animation, a still picture, and I can sculpt person face into 3-d, but I’m not sure that I can make the face extremely the same for the amateur skill in the blender. I think I can try out to make it the best with what I have learned and know.
As an adult they have weakness and strength in life, some adult has more experience than other. Some kid also has more experience than a large amount of adult too. If the adult and kid working together they can share their knowledge with each other, I have an experience when I was learning on my holiday with my mother friend, she was a teacher the know one way of doing algebraic and I know the other ways of doing algebra but we get the same answer so we had share what I learn to other in exchange for some other ways. Young students sometimes have more skill than the adult.
I had faced so many challenges in the past few years with the skills that I’m working with. I had more homework to work on for school, so I don’t have much time to practice my skills for so long. Something the computer is too slow, I can’t work on anything with the slow computer. Sometimes I just can’t keep my motivation going while I have more thing to work and more idea to think about. I always think about anything that I don’t really need to think. I just can’t stop thinking about that, I always want to find ways to stops that from me.
This skill has now become my passion, it had taught me how to become a person that has the determination and hard worker by the challenge I had faced in the past few years. I constantly committed to the craft of design and improving my skill. This skill could lead me to a great future because Cambodia is a developing country so they really need a 3d modeler for the building that will build in Cambodia.
Gender roles have been used in advertisements all over the world. Some gender roles are used in advertising to make their product look attractive, it effect the viewer by causing them to have less self-confidence.
According to the The New York Times, advertising shows men in negative ways. It’s the way that the advertiser treats men like idiots, foolish, stupid and clumsy and this is how advertising treats men. In the New York Times, gender roles really affect the viewer’s identity in young boys because when they grow up they need a role model to lead them. but the male has been treated poorly. So the young boys follow the footsteps of the male that in the advertisement.
Based on The Huffington Post, advertisements use gender roles to attract customers to take a look and the ads and want to buy the product. The Huffington Post report states the effect on the viewer’s identity by causing them develop an eating disorder. In the article it shows the scale of eating disorders has increased from 1:10 to 1:4 for males. The scale increased really fast over time. These are some of the reasons that eating disorder have increased because they want their body to bulk up. Also they are believe on their culture what they should look like and what they should wear and when they should eat. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, said the children consume seven hours on media a day. Studies have shown that many boy take in those media messages and apply them to their own appearances .
In conclusion, men and kids take advertising too seriously and it causes them problems like men they treated poorly and kids having an eating disorder. The solution to kids is, according to The Huffington Post, we can stop the kids that have problems of eating disorders by making them have a lot more of action or having field trip to get their brain off media for young. So when they get older they didn’t think about the media.

Eliza said “LIZA. You want me back only to pick up your slippers and put up with your tempers and fetch and carry for you.” Eliza realizes that Higgins care her like his slippers and Higgins using her to make a bet with pickering. It really show that Eliza has not changed in her self worth at all because she wants the right to live like people that live in the world.
By the time Eliza Doolittle remains the same as she has the self worth throughout the play. She reappeared every scene she has a greatly change, dressed very formally. The reasons are she has a lot of the argument with other people and want the right to her and get a lot of care that she want. On the first year trouble with spelling a lot because I’m not really good at spelling. Example: I spell sick into stick and the other one is ticket into tricker. On reading in the group I’m like level A to B and now I have a lot higher level. The grammar is so bad and I did not know anything but now I know a lot more. Example present perfect, simple past, future past. About my writing it was bad but now it improved and it need that last time.
